25 Years Protecting Biodiversity
A commemorative edition inspired by some of the Valencian Community's most iconic and endangered species.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the Official College of Biologists of the Valencian Community, we developed a project that brought together natural heritage, editorial design, and digital experience. The result was a limited-edition collection of six prints inspired by some of the region's most iconic and endangered species, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and digitally tokenised. The collaboration also included the design and development of the College's new website, created to strengthen its scientific and institutional outreach while improving access to its services for members and the wider public.
An Award Reimagined as an Editorial Piece
The project was conceived as a commemorative piece that would go beyond the idea of a conventional award. The result was a limited-edition collection of six prints inspired by some of the Valencian Community's most iconic and endangered species. Conceived as a collectible editorial piece, the collection celebrates the region's natural heritage while embodying a shared commitment to biodiversity conservation.
Each species was interpreted through an original graphic composition, overlaid with a die-cut silhouette that precisely follows its form. As each print unfolds, the two layers interact to create a piece that combines illustration, depth, and negative space, inviting a moment of discovery.
Six Species, One Territory
The species were selected in collaboration with a team of biologists and specialists from the Official College of Biologists of the Valencian Community, identifying six of the region's most representative endangered species. Among them are the Spanish Festoon butterfly and the European goldfinch, both of which still inhabit one of the Mediterranean's most unique ecosystems.
A Limited Edition with a Digital Identity
The six prints are presented in a custom-designed collector's box and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. As part of the project, the edition was digitally tokenised, giving each set a unique digital identity that verifies its authenticity while reinforcing the exclusive nature of a collection conceived to endure over time.
A New Digital Platform for the Scientific Community
Alongside the editorial project, we designed and developed the new website for the Official College of Biologists of the Valencian Community, created to strengthen the institution's communication and improve access to services for members, professionals, and the wider public. The new platform brings together news, training, events, and resources within a clear and intuitive information architecture, significantly enhancing the user experience.
